Job Description As the Category & Product Manager for our Moen Brand portfolio of products, you will be empowered and expected to grow margins and profitability, enabling the Water Business Unit to meet its overall financial goals. You will ensure we have the right products, in the right channels, with the right pricing architecture. You will have a deep understanding of the market and target customer groups to recommend strategies that will increase market share and profitability throughout the product’s lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in marketing and (5) years of experience in category and product management or channel marketing, preferably within the building materials or consumer/durable goods industry. You will have a critical mindset for financial modeling. be able to quickly adapt, learn about plumbing, handle ambiguous situations, work cross-functionally with other COEs, and be willing to travel less than 10% domestically to customer locations.
This role is designated as hybrid which includes working 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) out of one of our North Olmsted, OH office location.
What you will be doing:
Provide critical input to situation assessments for assigned product portfolio as part of the annual strategic planning process.
With approval from the Group Category Manager, provide pricing for assigned product portfolio driving revenue and margin contribution to achieve P&L goals.
Define market segment priorities and partner with Channel Marketing establish Go-To-Market strategies and plans to achieve P&L goals.
Develop and execute a 3-year product plan conducting ongoing review to align timing and resources.
Partner with Product Development on product plan execution.
Manage cross-functional product development teams and provide marketing guidance at tollgates.
Provide direction on value proposition, unique selling proposition, price, margin and supply for new product development
Own product lifecycle management for assigned product portfolio, including all product launches and plans for discontinued product.
Partner with Innovation on the definition and scoping of projects. Ensure alignment with brand and business unit goals.
Develop product training content to be delivered internally (to Sales team) and externally (to customers) by Channel Marketing.
Partner with Marketing Services/Digital to develop 2D, 3D and digital product collateral.
Partner with Global Integrated Marketing to ensure alignment of product with brand plan.
May manage a Marketing intern.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field
Minimum of 5 years of product management and/or channelmarketing experience.
Various market segments and channel experience
Strong investigative skills, including ability to arrive at insights from data, is essential for market and evaluation, pricing and line management
Demonstrated ability to be a team player with skills to manage/participate in cross-functional teams
Demonstrated verbal, written and presentation skills
Ability to travel approximately 10%, mainly to customer locations domestically.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
MBA in Marketing, Business, or related field
Experience with consumer package goods
