The role: As the Emerging Risk Analyst, you will play a vital role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating emerging risks that could impact the organization. Positioned within the Second Line of Defense, your primary responsibility will be to identify credit-related weaknesses through data mining, creating monitoring dashboards and identifying targeted loan review areas to ensure the organization's resilience in a continuously evolving economy. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including the First Line of Defense, to ensure that emerging risks are proactively identified and integrated into the broader risk management strategy. This role supports the Emerging Risk Lead by looking around the corner at potential emerging risks that could impact the health of the bank's portfolios and lending. A successful candidate will need to have an awareness of key industry trends and emerging risks, and be able to translate those trends back to the key data elements needed for monitoring impact within the credit portfolios. What you'll do: <ul><li>Design and implement data collection and processing pipelines</li><li>Strong experience owning product analytics workflows including formulating success metrics, socializing them across the organization, and creating dashboards/reports</li><li>Evaluate and interpret the results of data analysis</li><li>Build data pipelines to deploy production level datasets for emerging risk dashboard</li><li>Develop cross-company portfolio monitoring and emerging risk dashboards leveraging tableau tools on a monthly and quarterly basis.</li><li>Monitor external and internal environments for new and emerging risks</li><li>Build interactive tableau dashboards for loan review with drill down capability into problem areas.</li><li>Build out data driven monitoring metrics against underwriting and regulatory policy requirements</li><li>Recommend improvements to lending policies and practices based on credit challenges with policy owners and document the findings.</li><li>Data validation on all monitoring metrics ensuring consistent definitions with business partners</li></ul> What you'll need: <ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.</li><li>5+ years in credit risk management, credit analysis, or a related field within a financial institution, with a strong background in consumer lending and risk assessment.</li><li>Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.</li><li>Previous experience in Operations, Compliance, or Risk</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and trends.</li><li>Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.</li><li>Demonstrated ability working with Tableau Creator</li><li>Experience using SQL to extract actionable information from relational databases</li><li>High motivation to learn, drive change, and able to work collaboratively in a complex and fast-paced environment</li><li>Strong cross-functional, teaming, and communications skills, as well as an ability to work in a fluid and highly collaborative environment</li><li>Ability to operate independently with excellent time management skills</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong presentation skills</li></ul> Nice to have: <ul><li>Knowledge of OCC regulations and guidelines related to credit risk management.</li></ul> Compensation and Benefits The base pay range for this role is listed below.
