Position Overview:   Freddie Mac’s Enterprise Model Governance Data Science Team is currently seeking a Quantitative Analytics Senior. EMG data team is responsible to deliver an array of quantitative initiatives including development, validation, and monitoring across multiple models (credit risk, market risk, counterparty risk, etc.) across enterprise.
Our Impact:   The team is responsible to support model risk management and work cross functionally with modeling teams to ensure compliance with risk standard. This includes working directly on model design, model code, model data as well as building software and automation tools.
Your Impact:    Perform independent validation on model methodologies.
Design workflows and data pipelines (ETL) and verify data sources including economic, finance, and enterprise.
Build prototypes to automate validation procedures.
Qualifications:    Doctorate degree (or Master's degree with 3 years equivalent work experience) in quantitative finance, Software engineering or a related quantitative field.
Coursework or work experience applying predictive modeling techniques from finance, statistics, econometrics, mathematics, data science, and computer programming to large data sets. Qualifying coursework may include—but is not limited to—statistics, mathematical programming, optimization, machine learning, generative AI, design and analysis of algorithms and data structure, Bayesian methods, derivatives, and Monte Carlo methods/modeling.
Coursework or work experience writing statistical and software programs to develop models and algorithms.
Programming languages must include—Python and SQL.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $118,000 - $178,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.

Responsibilities and Skills:   Partner with cross-functional teams from Legal and Human Resources to assess Capital One's compensation system.
Utilize Python, SQL, and Quicksight to build modular, scalable, statistical models and reporting infrastructure and dashboards that will provide key insights about pay equity & fairness.
Provide insights that drive decisions and help shape policy impacting 50,000+ associates.
Flex your interpersonal skills to translate the complexity of statistical model results into tangible insights and actionable recommendations.
Apply root cause analysis, such as causal inference, to answer why an observed phenomenon happens and suggest actions that could effectively address concerns.

Demonstrated track record in machine learning and econometric analysis.
Experience utilizing model estimation tools.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong presentation skills.
Ability to fully own the model development process: from conceptualization through data exploration, model selection, validation, deployment, business user training, and monitoring.
Proficiency in key econometric and statistical techniques (such as predictive modeling, logistic regression, survival analysis, panel data models, design of experiments, decision trees, machine learning methods).
Basic Qualifications:   Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree plus at least 5 years of experience in data analytics, or currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Master’s Degree plus at least 3 years in data analytics, or currently has, or is in the process of obtaining PhD with an expectation that required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date.
At least 2 years of programming experience or financial modeling or econometric modeling (can include Graduate School Research work).
Preferred Qualifications:   Master’s Degree or PhD in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, Physics or related discipline.
At least 3 years of experience in statistical techniques such as regression, root cause analysis, causal inference, classification, and clustering.
At least 3 years of experience with developing and implementing models using modern scripting languages (Python, R or other statistical languages).
At least 3 years of experience working with large-scale, cloud-based coding environments and databases (Python, SQL or other data manipulation languages).
At least 1 year of experience in consulting.

As a Senior Analyst associate, you’ll be participating in our Commercial Quantitative Analyst Rotational Program which will provide a diversity of experiences by rotating through two different teams over the course of three years.
Responsibilities and Skills:   Partner with the various lines of business to enhance modeling and analytical frameworks.
Work across Capital One entities to create novel analytical solutions to challenging business problems.
Implement quantitative models and maintain in-house quantitative analytical framework.
Identify opportunities to apply quantitative methods and automation solutions to improve business performance and process efficiencies.
