Summary: Facebook is seeking a data center Critical Facility Engineer to join our Data Center Facility Operations team. Our data centers serve as the foundation upon which our software operates to meet the demands of our customers. The Critical Facility Engineer will be a part of the Facility Operations team responsible for operating and maintaining critical systems in our data centers. The candidate will need to be experienced in diverse industries such as electrical generation, electrical distribution, cooling technologies and fire protection systems. Required Skills: Critical Facility Engineer Responsibilities: Perform hands-on operations and maintenance which includes all physical and administrative operations tasks, service, and maintenance in accordance with site processes and procedures to ensure the highest levels of uptime, efficiency, and safety without disruption to the business Complete work order requests accurately and on time Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with cross functional teams Respond quickly, using Facebook procedures or emergency operating procedures to data center facility emergencies Regularly inspect equipment, buildings, safety routes and grounds to check or identify any abnormal or unsafe conditions or faults Troubleshoot, evaluate and recommend system upgrades Order parts and supplies for maintenance and repairs Work with vendors and contractors to ensure work is in accordance with the agreed Facebook processes, procedures, and standards Escalate issues to facility management appropriately and timely Assist in scheduling and supervising vendors/subcontractors during equipment/systems maintenance and service Provides technical expertise and assistance as required Provides recommendation of improvements to the operations and maintenance program on an on-going basis Ability to work night shift work and set shift which may include nights and holidays Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED) 5+ years experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, controls, or other technical maintenance field Associate's degree in engineering plus 3+ years experience or Bachelor's degree in related field plus 2+ years experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, or controls will be considered in lieu of 5+ years experience Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel and Outlook Experience interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings Regularly walk job site areas of flat and uneven terrain Work at varying heights and from ladders Use hands and fingers Reach/push/pull with hands/arms/shoulders Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl May lift and/or otherwise move 45 pounds or more Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years experience in a data center or other Critical Environment (pharma, clean room, medical, power production, etc.) Trade Certification or state license in Electrical or Mechanical (HVAC) Professional affiliations (7x24 Exchange, IFMA, Data Center Pulse, etc.) Knowledge of CMMS systems Knowledge of critical facilities operations Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life safety monitoring and control systems typically used in critical environments Industry: Internet Equal Opportunity: Facebook is proud to be an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer. What Youll Bring Bachelors Degree in Business, Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required. Masters Degree preferred. Experience building and managing a strong technical data engineering team focused on delivering results and engineering excellence across the engineering lifecycle - design, build, test, release, and operate, i.e., a full ownership model. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to collect and compile relevant data Extremely organized with great attention to detail Excellent ability to analyze information and think systematically Excellent business analysis skills Works well independently and as part of a team Thorough understanding of the companys business processes and the industry at large Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases. Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures and data sets leveraging various scripting languages or ETL tools. Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement. Demonstrated analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets. Ability to build and use APIs to push and pull data from various data systems and platforms. Build processes supporting data extraction, transformation, and loading of data into data structures. A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets. 5 years of overall experience leading technical data engineering teams implementing data and infrastructure solutions in Cloud and on premise environments. 3 years of proven experience working with Apache Spark framework, Hadoop, Java/Scala, Python and AWS architecture. 2 years of proven experience in Microsoft .Net technologies such as C#, VB.Net and experience in designing, developing and deploying Windows & Web applications 3 years of experience in database development using PL/SQL and SQL Server 2012 or later and Snowflake 2 years of proven experience building data pipelines and ETL flows in Cloud and on premise environments using Snowpipe, Informatica, Airflow etc Experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement.
