The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) manages the efficient flow of electricity on more than 11,000 circuit-miles of high-voltage transmission lines, dispatching power from hundreds of generating units across the state. The Senior Product Business Analyst will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. This individual will act as the technical interface between the NYISO business units, NYISO Stakeholder Committees or NYISO business partners and the Product, Project and IT teams. Understand market design concepts, business requirements, regulatory framework and internal software applications. The Senior Product Business Analyst is responsible for eliciting requirements, translating into technical specifications and supporting their development and implementation. This individual will also facilitate, prioritize, communicate and document functional and technical business requirements into IT solutions for assigned Product Group, ensuring successful completion of IT projects to meet deliverables and customer expectations on time and within budget and provide technical expertise to support the objectives of assigned Product Group.
Must be a self-motivated professional, able to work independently, with proven record of achieving results on cross-functional teams. Have experience working in a dynamic changing environment, with a commitment to providing value-based customer service and ability to anticipate and address customer needs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

<li>Serve as lead subject matter expert (SME) in the development of business requirements to support product development and enhancements.</li>
<li>Lead requirements elicitation for multiple, large, complex, cross-departmental, multi-phase and multi-year projects and initiatives as assigned.</li>
<li>Partner with Market Design Specialists on designing technologically feasible, functional solutions which meet Business and Market Participant needs within regulatory frameworks and software capabilities.</li>
<li>Provide technical expertise to the Product Manager in the development of business cases to support product enhancements and longer-term product planning efforts.</li>
<li>Organize business requirements into technical options; develop business concepts of operational documents, use cases and presentation materials, which include a summary of the user specifications, cost estimates, timelines, and other related information.</li>
<li>Lead timely delivery of requirements in the context of project commitment, milestones and deliverables ensuring requirements support execution timeline and deadlines are met.</li>
<li>Develop and apply knowledge and expertise, in supported NYISO Business Areas and related software applications, to develop solutions that meet the Business need and project commitments on time and on budget.</li>
<li>Identify, report, mitigate and escalate potential risks and issues related to project scope and/or timeline to Management, as appropriate.</li>
<li>Actively engage in development of mitigating strategies for identified risks and issues and in getting buy-in from Business Owners, IT and NYISO Management, in order to keep projects on track.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain a productive working relationship with project sponsors, project administration, customers and key system users and provide continuous support to NYISO Product and Project Managers supporting the development of product vision and project execution.</li>
<li>Facilitate collaboration among diverse teams, ensuring consensus and alignment.</li>
<li>Foster effective communication between business units, developers, and other stakeholders.</li>
<li>Drive decision-making processes by presenting well-articulated recommendations ensuring clarity and alignment.</li>
<li>Work with business owners, project sponsors and stakeholders to obtain requirements and achieve optimal solutions which take into account organizational and customers' objectives in the context of regulatory framework and Energy industry trends.</li>
<li>Provide recommendations to users/customers in prioritizing new development projects, enhancements for existing systems and system maintenance requests.</li>
<li>Assist in the development of statements of work defining the responsibilities, deliverables, acceptance criteria and timelines which outline the working relationship with NYISO business partners.</li>
<li>Develop solutions and business requirements that will meet the needs of customers and conform to the principles defined in the NYISO Tariffs and Business and Operational Manuals. Ensure proper requirements traceability through the design, development and testing of project components. Assist in the development of product and customer documentation including tariff language, technical bulletins, NYISO business and Operational Manuals, User Guides and training materials. Conduct workshops with internal and external customers. Share SME knowledge with Business Units and IT partners to build bench strength</li>
<li>Participate in testing and debugging activities during implementation and for critical productions issues, if required.</li>
<li>Work closely with NYISO consulting organizations developing solutions and business requirements that meet the needs of our customers and conform to the principles defined in the NYISO Tariffs and Operations Manuals.</li>

<li>Mentor junior Product Business Analysts</li>

QUALIFICATIONS

<li>Bachelor's Degree (BS or BA) Engineering, Information Technology or other related technical field required, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.</li>
<li>Seven years of relevant industry-related or professional experience performing increasingly more complex and technical analyses in multi-project environment.</li>
<li>Demonstrated success in requirements development process and software development life cycle methodology.</li>
<li>Must have in depth understanding of the technology and multi-practice disciplines associated with customer development projects, excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of tools and vendors in the marketplace that provide key functionality to similar environments.</li>
<li>Business experience in electric power systems or wholesale electric markets strongly desired</li>
