As a dedicated research professional, you'll work closely with Health Analytics and Vital Records (HAVRS) staff and partners to design and disseminate data into dashboards and reports. Your work will ensure data quality and integrity, involve data visualization software such as Tableau or ArcGIS, and may involve data analytics using SAS and R. You'll perform these projects under the guidance of the Research Unit supervisor. Your contribution to this important work is highly valued and will help shape public health policies and practices. As a member of the HAVRS team, you will have the opportunity to make important contributions to this mission and make a difference in improving the health and well-being of Alaskans. The Alaska Health Analytics and Vital Records Section (HAVRS) are chiefly responsible for the administration of: <ol><li>The Alaska Electronic Vital Records System (EVRS) collects records of birth, death, fetal death, marriage, divorce, adoption, and induced termination. </li><li>The Alaska Cancer Registry (ACR) program collects records of newly diagnosed cancer cases. </li><li>The Alaska Health Facilities Data Reporting (HFDR) program collects records of inpatient and outpatient discharges. </li> </ol>Benefits of Joining Our Team: Benefits include health and retirement plans, 12 paid holidays, paid leave accrual, union representation, and the potential for annual performance pay increases. The Working Environment You Can Expect: This is an in-person position stationed in our Anchorage office. This location provides free parking and is near public transportation stops. The building also includes a break room and meeting space, along with other state offices.
