Responsibilities include: <ul> <li>Part of traveling Trackside Support Group - supporting race and test events </li><li>Provide trackside engineering support to client and customer teams </li><li>Understanding and support for full vehicle data and controls systems, including looms, hardware, and software </li><li>Analyze data for car reliability and sensor quality </li><li>Support shop car build and prep, systems configuration, calibration, and sign-off </li><li>Report on a daily basis regarding relevant information and issues during race and test attendances </li><li>Setup/monitor/teardown trackside IT systems during trackside activities </li><li>Setup and monitoring of real-time telemetry and data systems </li><li>Support and maintain trackside IT inventory, examples include desktops, laptops, peripherals, network gear, intercoms, and radio equipment. </li></ul>Job Requirements Details: <ul> <li>B.S. degree in Electrical/Mechanical engineering with emphasis in racing vehicle controls and data acquisition systems, or equivalent work experience </li><li>3 - 5 years of working in a professional racing environment, preferably in a track support role in high-level motorsport, Formula E, LMP1 Hybrid, Formula 1 hybrid era experience beneficial. </li><li>Extensive hands on experience with motorsports powertrains and related mechanical and electronic systems. </li><li>Hybrid Electric experience desired. </li> <li>Previous report writing and database experience. </li><li>Thorough understanding of high performance engines/vehicles, both theoretical and practical experience. </li><li>Thorough understanding of racing vehicle controls and data acquisition/telemetry systems, CAN bus expertise, troubleshooting and faults identification. </li> <li>Experience with real-time telemetry systems. </li><li>Basic IT knowledge (networking, hardware, cloud computing, etc.) </li><li>Excellent computing skills, competent with main Microsoft products, McLaren System Monitor and ATLAS, Cosworth Electronics software. About the Role:

As a Staff IoT Engineer, you will play a critical role in architecting our IoT platform to ensure its scalability, reliability, and efficiency. You will lead the design and development of components and services, working closely with a dynamic team of platform engineers and collaborating with Product and Embedded engineers, to bring product ideas to life. Additionally, you will mentor engineers and promote industry best IoT practices to ensure our solutions are cutting-edge and maintain high standards.

Promote best IoT practices

Collaborate with a cross functional team to design and document scalable solutions

Ability to write secure, maintainable code that powers the platform that connects the world’s physical economy

Lead code reviews and help to guide software architecture decisions

Resource for the product team to determine technical feasibility of features

Build and scale data models and improve system performance

Build and make scalable design choices for API interfaces to work across internal and external applications and services

Building software that improves the cost of running a service in production, reduces iteration time and helps you and the team make better decisions about how and what we build and try next

Build appropriate monitoring, logging, debugging for the health of the system

Communicate effectively across multiple teams and projects. Actively work on our AWS cloud infrastructure

What We’re Looking For:

B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field

10+ years of software development experience

5+ years of IoT Cloud experience

3+ years of MQTT experience

An affinity for creating software that is extensible, performant, and easy to read

Strong programming skills in one or more of these languages: Ruby (Rails), GoLang, Java, Python, or NodeJSExperience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis, and Cassandra

Experience with scaling, troubleshooting, migrations and security of distributed systems

Experience building for Cloud Infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, Azure or private cloudsExperience with CI/CD and version control (preferably Git)
