Staff Software Engineer, Edge Delivery

The Edge Delivery team maintains Varnish, Fastly’s core caching platform, as well as adjacent services and tooling. Leveraging C, Go and Rust in different codebases, the team develops a highly-scalable service platform which is responsible for meeting the ever-growing and changing requirements of Fastly's diverse customer base.

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join this critical team and help to evolve it to help scale our CDN, compute & security infrastructure. In addition to systems-level work, this role will involve extensive cross-team collaboration as well as the design of various utilities, applications and tools.

What You'll Do:

Lead full lifecycle projects and facilitate collaboration with other teams at Fastly on interfaces to Varnish and related technologies like VCL

What We're Looking For:

You have at least 7 years of production experience as a software engineer

Proficiency in scripting languages like Python for quick prototyping

Ability to participate in and help coordinate incident response and mitigation

Senior Software Engineer - Data Services The Data Services team is responsible for developing, supporting, and operating the software, systems & infrastructure that Fastly's products are built on top of. We are looking for a Senior engineer who is interested in the space at the intersection of security & data to join the team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for leading project implementations, collaborating with others, and growing/adapting systems to the needs of the business.
